A labor of love.
What started out as buying a more economical car when I traded in a 2008 Dodge Ram. I instantly fell in love with this car, sure maybe I should have  gotten a Hemi, but the v6 seemed like the best bang for the buck, considering I knew that I would most likely modify the engine. I was going to pull the engine out after the warranty ran expired , The first thing I did was pull that hideous single exhaust pipe off, reminded me of a minivan. I found a set of pipes from a guy who had a R/T and made a deal and had a local muffler shop install it. That made the back end appear much nicer, Dodge copied this the next year in 2011. The next mod was to lower it a bit, the opening between fender and the wheel reminded me of a pickup truck. These cars beg to be dropped! So with the help of my great friend Jeff Jazbeck , who owns 2 very nice challengers "HOWFAST" and "SASSY" I was able to drop it down about 1.75"s.
Also in this time I had a MOPAR  go-wing spoiler installed which at the time I hated, until I added the 20" Foose signature wheels and Vredesteins 315s on the rear. Those staggered rims and tires made gobs of difference in the looks of this car. Next it was the chrome fuel door that comes on all of the cars now. I tinted the windows , blacked out the front side markers, blacked out the grill ala plastidip! Then I added an aftermarket stereo with touchscreen and a backup camera. The steering wheel needed attention because when I added the carbon fiber bezel and console pieces it made the wheel look stupid. so I went to a local hobby shop and purchased a a sheet of parma carbon fiber and customized the spokes on the steering wheel.
Then I ran into Steve the CEO of RDP MOTORSPORT, and the rest is history.  After RDP got done with the car Steve and I took it to Thompson and turned a 13.4 et . That wasn't good enough. Not good enought for me and not enough for Steve. So back to the shop it went, where Steve and his team installed a 3500 stall speed converter and a set of nitto drag radials.
Back to the track we went the next week and turned a 12.84! First V6 Challenger in the 12's! Fastest V6 Challenger in the world! But yet I knew it had more in it. so on a cool October morning I made a 12.72 pass and reset the world record.   I have since been  bested by a a fellow in Virginia who has done an amazing job getting his Supercharged plus N2O injected Challenger into the 12.4s.  Congrats to Joe for his efforts . All I can say is stay tuned .........
